I'm not quite sure what "Redhead" is referring to but we've been at FRS for about 3 years now and I've found the instructors, albeit "unaccredited highschool girls", extremely experienced who have shown in local GHJA as well as AA shows around the entire South East. At any barn you go to, schooling horses are just that: for schooling. They use these horses because they're well-trained in routines of beginning and intermediate riders and generally safer in the most part. My daughter has advanced extremely well over the last 3 years having moved to this barn from another where she rode for 2 years and didn't even canter let alone jump. Now, she has moved up from "beginner" to a more high end "intermediate" rider with being pushed to move up from "flat" course equitation to competing in IEA and a GHJA competition for hunter/jumper in 2'4" jumps last spring for which she took Reserve Champion. The current instructors challenge their students and push them to be professional as well as focusing on technique. We've recommended and had two friends move to this barn from another local barn where they weren't satisfied. As far as the owners go, there are a lot of riders and responsibility to running a horse farm and most lessons take place on weekends or after school during "off business" hours. But they do live on premises and have always been available to me if needed to answer questions. Riding is like any other sport, you get out of it what you put into it. I've talked to many people who've switched barns out of FRS reputation and many drive long distances just to come here for the instruction and shows.
